Callander
is an interesting little town in Scotland, blessed not only with a beautiful location, but also many things to see and do during your visit. The surrounding area also provides a great variety of activities within a fairly small radius of Callander.

The following list gives a good idea of the activities in the Callander area:
-
The Callander Rob Roy visitor centre
An audio visual exhibition of the Rob Roy story, a visitor information centre and a selection of books, maps & souvenirs
.
-
The Hamilton Toy Museum
Great for the family on a wet Callander day - a fabulous collection of toys through the ages which will be of interest to both young and old
.
- Callander Meadows

A leisure area by the river for picnics, waterfowl and walks by the river. Also a safe play area for the children. Various exhibitions, displays and crazy golf during the visitor season.
.
- The Callander Crags
For the more energetic, the Crags walk to the Victoria Cairn at the summit provides magnificent views over Callander and the river Teith to Loch Venachar. To the south on a clear day, you can see Stirling, its castle and the Wallace Monument with the Kincardine bridge and the Firth of Forth visible in the background.
.
- Woodland walks

The Lower Crags walk and the recently completed Coilhallan woods walk provide opportunities to see the local wildlife and glimpses of the local geology and archeology. To the south, a new walk will be provided at the Auchenlaich ponds.
.
- The Bracklinn Falls
On the river Keltie a rocky shelf creates a splendid series of waterfalls with some pleasant walking. The whole river course was devastated in August 2004 by a flash flood, but this has in many ways improved the scenery by removing a great deal of foliage overgrowth and opening up new and previously unseen vistas. A bridge at the falls was washed away but is scheduled for replacement.
.
- Auchenlaich long barrow and hill fort
Near Auchenlaich farm, the long barrow id the longest pre-historic burial mound of its kind in Scotland. Close to the ancient long barrow is the remains of a hill fort. The Bracklinn falls, the hill fort and the long barrow can be incorporated into a circular walk.
.
- Kilmahog Woollen Mills
As well as a great shopping experience for the ladies, an exhibition demonstrates the art of the weaver.
.
- The Callander Leisure Centre

A great place to keep fit and enjoy yourself. A swimming pool, indoor climbing wall and a gymnasium with a great choice of excercise equipment makes keep-fit a pleasure
